1. Who we are
Zaps (“Zaps”, “we”, “us”) is the operator of the Service. This Privacy Policy covers the Zaps mobile app, the zaps.design website and related services (the “Service”).
2. Information we collect
Account information. Email, account ID, authentication tokens when you sign in.
Content. Photos, videos, text, designs and other content you create, import or upload while using Zaps. Your content remains yours.
Usage data. Device type, OS version, app version, language, time zone, crash logs, feature usage and session metadata to improve performance and stability.
Purchase data. Subscription status and receipt data from Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card information.
Optional data. Camera, photo library, microphone access only when you grant permission for specific features.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain and improve the Service.
- Process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Send service-related communications (account, billing, security).
- Analyze aggregate usage to improve features and reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. AI features and your content
Some Zaps features (background removal, magic eraser, photo enhance) process your photos using on-device or cloud AI models. We do not use your content to train third-party generative AI models. Cloud-processed images are deleted from our servers after processing.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers (cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support) under data processing agreements.
- Apple and Google for subscription processing.
- Legal authorities when required by law.
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
6. Your rights
Depending on your region, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, withdraw consent, and object to or restrict processing. Email privacy@zaps.design to exercise these rights.
7. Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion to meet legal and operational obligations. You can delete your account at any time from app settings.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage strong, unique account credentials.
9. Children
Zaps is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
